Responsibilities
- Monitor and analyze security alerts from SIEM systems (Splunk, QRadar) during weekend shifts.
- Conduct real-time threat detection, investigation, and incident response for active security breaches.
- Perform vulnerability assessments and patch management reviews to reduce risk exposure.
- Document security incidents, root causes, and resolution steps in the ticketing system.
- Collaborate with the Virginia-based SOC team to share threat intelligence and coordinate responses.
- Conduct security awareness training sessions and phishing simulations.
Qualifications
- 5+ years of experience in Cybersecurity, SOC, or Network Security.
- Certifications such as CISSP, CEH, or Security+ are highly preferred.
- Strong experience with SIEM tools, firewalls, and endpoint protection.
- Deep understanding of TCP/IP, OSI model, and common attack vectors (MITRE ATT&CK).
- Ability to work rotating weekend shifts with high attention to detail under pressure.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
