Responsibilities
- Monitor Security Information and Event Management (SIEM) systems 24/7 to detect and respond to potential security breaches and anomalies.
- Conduct thorough incident triage, analysis, and remediation for escalated security alerts during off-peak hours.
- Perform regular vulnerability assessments and penetration testing to identify weaknesses in our infrastructure before attackers do.
- Collaborate with the SOC team during shift handovers to ensure a seamless transition of knowledge and open cases.
- Document all security incidents, findings, and remediation steps in the Security Information Management (SIM) system.
- Stay updated on the latest threat intelligence and cybersecurity trends to enhance our defense strategies.
- Conduct security awareness training and briefings for internal stakeholders regarding weekend-specific threats.
Qualifications
- Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in a SOC or Security Analyst role, specifically with weekend shift experience.
- Strong knowledge of network security concepts, protocols, and best practices (NIST, ISO 27001).
- Proficiency in using security tools such as Splunk, FireEye, CrowdStrike, or similar SIEM/EDR platforms.
- Relevant certifications such as CISSP, CEH, Security+, or GCIH are highly preferred.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to remain calm under pressure during critical incidents.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills for reporting findings to stakeholders.
- Must be legally authorized to work in the United States.
