Role Overview:
In this role, you will act as the first line of defense against cyber threats. You will monitor our security infrastructure, respond to incidents, and ensure compliance with industry standards. You will collaborate closely with our engineering and IT teams to build a secure environment.
Responsibilities
- Threat Monitoring: Continuously monitor network traffic and security alerts using SIEM tools to detect and mitigate threats in real-time.
- Incident Response: Lead the investigation and remediation of security breaches, including forensic analysis and root cause determination.
- Vulnerability Management: Conduct regular vulnerability assessments and penetration testing to identify system weaknesses.
- Security Architecture: Assist in designing, implementing, and maintaining security controls, firewalls, and intrusion prevention systems.
- Compliance: Ensure adherence to internal security policies and external regulatory standards (e.g., NIST, ISO 27001).
- Collaboration: Partner with IT and development teams to patch vulnerabilities and secure new deployments.
Qualifications
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Cybersecurity, Information Technology, or a related field.
- Experience: Minimum 3-5 years of experience in a SOC or Security Operations Center environment.
- Certifications: CISSP, CEH, Security+, or GIAC GSEC certification is highly preferred.
- Technical Skills: Proficiency with Splunk, SIEM, or LogRhythm; strong knowledge of TCP/IP and network protocols.
- Scripting: Ability to write scripts in Python or Bash for automation and log analysis.
- Soft Skills: Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to communicate complex technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
