Responsibilities
- Monitor, detect, and respond to security incidents using SIEM tools (Splunk, QRadar)
- Conduct vulnerability assessments and penetration testing across network infrastructure
- Develop and implement security controls to protect cloud environments (AWS/Azure)
- Collaborate with IT teams to ensure compliance with NIST, ISO 27001, and GDPR standards
- Create detailed incident response plans and conduct tabletop exercises
- Mentor junior analysts and lead security awareness training sessions
- Stay current with emerging threats and defensive technologies
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Cybersecurity, Computer Science, or related field (or equivalent experience)
- 5+ years of hands-on cybersecurity experience with SOC operations
- Professional certifications (CISSP, CEH, CompTIA Security+)
- Expertise in network security (firewalls, IDS/IPS, VPNs)
- Strong scripting skills (Python, PowerShell, Bash)
- Experience with cloud security (AWS Security Hub, Azure Sentinel)
- Ability to obtain and maintain DoD Secret clearance
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
