Apex Cyber Defense Systems is seeking a Senior Cybersecurity Analyst for our elite 24/7 Security Operations Center (SOC) in San Antonio, Texas. Responsibilities
- 24/7 Threat Monitoring: Monitor security alerts, logs, and traffic patterns across the network using SIEM tools (Splunk, QRadar) to identify potential intrusions and anomalies.
- Incident Response & Remediation: Lead the technical investigation and containment of cybersecurity incidents during the night shift to minimize operational downtime.
- Threat Hunting: Proactively hunt for advanced persistent threats (APTs) and zero-day vulnerabilities that evade automated defenses.
- Vulnerability Management: Conduct nightly security assessments and penetration testing support to identify and patch system weaknesses.
- Security Operations Management: Collaborate with the day-shift team to document findings, create detailed incident reports, and refine security policies.
Qualifications
- Certifications: CISSP, Security+, CEH, or GNFA is highly preferred.
- Experience: Minimum 3-5 years of experience in SOC analysis, incident response, or network security.
- Technical Proficiency: Strong knowledge of TCP/IP, firewalls, IDS/IPS, and endpoint protection systems.
- Tools: Hands-on experience with SIEM platforms, log analysis, and scripting (Python/Bash).
- Availability: Must be willing and able to work rotating night shifts (e.g., 2:00 PM - 10:00 PM).
