Responsibilities
- Monitor 24/7 Security Operations Center (SOC) alerts using Splunk and QRadar to identify and mitigate potential threats in real-time.
- Conduct in-depth incident response investigations, root cause analysis, and remediation for network breaches and malware attacks.
- Configure, maintain, and tune firewalls, VPNs, and IDS/IPS systems to ensure robust network perimeter security.
- Perform regular vulnerability assessments and penetration testing to proactively identify security weaknesses in infrastructure.
- Collaborate with the IT team to apply security patches and enforce organizational security policies.
- Generate detailed security reports and dashboards for executive leadership and compliance audits.
Qualifications
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in cybersecurity, network security, or a similar SOC role.
- Certifications such as CISSP, CEH, Security+, or GCIH are strongly preferred.
- Must be available to work the Night Shift on a rotating schedule (e.g., 7 PM - 7 AM).
- Deep understanding of TCP/IP, OSI models, and common attack vectors.
- Experience with compliance frameworks (NIST, ISO 27001) and government regulations.
- Excellent analytical skills and the ability to communicate complex security issues to non-technical stakeholders.
- Willingness to relocate to Austin, TX, with company assistance.
