Responsibilities
- Threat Detection & Monitoring: Monitor Security Information and Event Management (SIEM) systems (Splunk, ArcSight) to detect, analyze, and respond to security incidents in real-time.
- Incident Response: Lead the investigation and remediation of security breaches, conducting forensic analysis to determine the scope and root cause of attacks.
- Vulnerability Management: Conduct regular vulnerability assessments and penetration testing to identify system weaknesses and implement patches.
- Security Framework Compliance: Ensure compliance with industry standards such as NIST, CIS, HIPAA, and SOC 2 by maintaining up-to-date documentation and controls.
- Threat Hunting: Proactively hunt for advanced persistent threats (APTs) and malicious actors lurking within the network perimeter.
- Policy Enforcement: Develop and enforce security policies and procedures to mitigate risks and ensure a secure working environment.
- Security Awareness: Conduct training sessions and workshops to educate employees on security best practices and phishing awareness.
Qualifications
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Security, or related field (Master’s preferred).
- Certifications: CISSP, CEH, Security+, or CISM certification is strongly required.
- Experience: Minimum of 5+ years of experience in cybersecurity, SOC analysis, or network security.
- Technical Skills: Proficiency with SIEM tools (Splunk, QRadar), firewalls (Cisco, Palo Alto), and IDS/IPS systems.
- Scripting: Strong knowledge of scripting languages such as Python, PowerShell, or Bash for automation and log analysis.
- Communication: Excellent verbal and written communication skills with the ability to present complex security findings to non-technical stakeholders.
- Work Environment: Ability to work in a 24/7 SOC environment (on-call rotation may be required).
