We are looking for a visionary and technical Cloud Engineer to join the NorthStar Systems team. In this role, you will bridge the gap between infrastructure and application development, ensuring our cloud environments are secure, scalable, and highly available. We offer a hybrid-remote model, allowing you to work from our Anchorage headquarters or anywhere in the United States.

As a Cloud Engineer, you will be the guardian of our cloud infrastructure, optimizing performance and ensuring zero downtime for our clients.
Responsibilities
- Design, deploy, and manage scalable cloud infrastructure using AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud Platform.
- Implement and maintain CI/CD pipelines to automate deployment processes and improve code quality.
- Monitor system health, performance metrics, and security compliance using tools like Datadog and Splunk.
- Collaborate with DevOps and software engineering teams to refactor legacy applications for the cloud.
- Develop infrastructure as code (IaC) using Terraform and Ansible.
- Conduct regular security audits and vulnerability assessments to protect data integrity.
- Provide technical leadership and mentorship to junior engineers and system administrators.
Qualifications
- 5+ years of experience in cloud engineering, DevOps, or a related field.
- Strong proficiency in at least one major cloud provider (AWS, Azure, or GCP).
- Experience with containerization technologies (Docker, Kubernetes) and orchestration tools.
- Expertise in scripting languages such as Python, Bash, or PowerShell.
- Knowledge of Infrastructure as Code (Terraform) and configuration management (Ansible, Chef).
- Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to troubleshoot complex network and system issues.
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or equivalent work experience.
