Responsibilities
- Monitor security alerts and analyze network traffic using SIEM tools to detect potential threats
- Investigate security incidents, conduct forensic analysis, and prepare detailed incident reports
- Implement and maintain security controls, including firewalls, IDS/IPS, and endpoint protection
- Perform vulnerability assessments and penetration testing to identify system weaknesses
- Develop and update security policies, procedures, and response plans
- Collaborate with IT teams to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements (NIST, HIPAA)
- Provide security awareness training to employees and stakeholders
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Cybersecurity, IT, or related field (or equivalent experience)
- 3+ years of hands-on experience in cybersecurity analysis or incident response
- Strong knowledge of security frameworks (NIST, CIS) and compliance standards
- Proficiency with SIEM platforms (Splunk, QRadar) and security tools (Wireshark, Metasploit)
- Certifications (CISSP, Security+, CEH, or GIAC) preferred
- Experience with cloud security (AWS, Azure) and network architecture
- Excellent analytical skills and ability to work under pressure during security incidents
- Strong written and verbal communication skills for technical and non-technical audiences
