Responsibilities
- Monitor security information and event management (SIEM) systems 24/7 during weekend shifts to detect and respond to cyber threats
- Conduct vulnerability assessments and penetration testing on client networks and systems
- Incident response coordination including threat containment, eradication, and recovery activities
- Generate and analyze security reports for executive stakeholders and compliance teams
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to implement security controls and best practices
- Stay current on emerging threats and threat intelligence relevant to financial services and government sectors
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Cybersecurity, IT, or related field (or equivalent experience)
- 3+ years of hands-on experience in security operations center (SOC) or incident response
- Active CISSP, CompTIA Security+, or CEH certification required
- Proficiency with SIEM tools (Splunk, QRadar) and endpoint security platforms
- Strong understanding of network protocols, cloud architectures (AWS/Azure), and zero-trust models
- Ability to work independently during weekend shifts with minimal supervision
- Valid U.S. government security clearance preferred
