Responsibilities
- Monitor security alerts and analyze network traffic for suspicious activity using SIEM platforms
- Investigate and respond to security incidents, including malware outbreaks and data breaches
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to implement robust security controls
- Conduct vulnerability assessments and penetration testing on critical systems
- Generate comprehensive incident reports and remediation recommendations
- Stay current on emerging threats and industry best practices (CIS Controls, NIST frameworks)
- Participate in emergency response drills and security awareness training
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Cybersecurity, IT, or related field (or equivalent experience)
- 3+ years of hands-on experience in SOC operations or incident response
- Certifications (CISSP, CEH, Security+, or CompTIA Security+ required)
- Proficiency in SIEM tools (Splunk, QRadar) and endpoint protection platforms
- Strong understanding of network protocols, cloud security (AWS/Azure), and threat intelligence
- Ability to work independently and make critical decisions under pressure
- Excellent written communication skills for incident documentation
