Responsibilities
- Design and implement fault-tolerant quantum algorithms for optimization problems
- Lead experimental validation of quantum supremacy claims using advanced error correction
- Collaborate with hardware teams to develop photonic and superconducting qubit architectures
- Author peer-reviewed publications and present findings at IEEE Quantum Week and APS March Meeting
- Secure $5M+ in research grants from NSF and DARPA quantum initiatives
- Mentor postdoctoral researchers in quantum machine learning techniques
- Develop commercial applications for quantum cryptography in blockchain systems
Qualifications
- PhD in Quantum Computing, Physics, or Computer Science (or equivalent experience)
- 3+ years of hands-on experience with quantum circuit simulation (Qiskit, Cirq)
- Published research in Nature/Science on quantum error correction or topological qubits
- Proficiency in Python, TensorFlow Quantum, and low-level quantum hardware control
- Deep understanding of quantum decoherence mitigation strategies
- Experience securing federal research funding (NSF, DOE, DARPA)
- Strong background in condensed matter physics and many-body quantum systems
