Responsibilities
- Design and implement quantum algorithms for optimization problems in cryptography and materials science
- Develop novel error-correction techniques for fault-tolerant quantum systems
- Collaborate with hardware engineers to optimize quantum circuit architectures
- Lead cross-functional research teams to publish breakthrough papers in Nature/Science
- Secure $2M+ in annual research grants through NSF and DARPA partnerships
- Mentor PhD candidates in quantum information science
- Translate theoretical advances into commercial IP with 15+ patents filed annually
Qualifications
- PhD in Quantum Physics, Computer Science, or related field (postdoc preferred)
- 3+ years hands-on experience with quantum programming frameworks (Qiskit, Cirq, Q#)
- Published research in quantum error correction or algorithm optimization
- Expertise in quantum decoherence mitigation techniques
- Strong Python/C++ programming with high-performance computing background
- Experience securing government research grants (NSF, DoE, DARPA)
- Proven ability to lead multidisciplinary technical teams
- Patent portfolio or commercial quantum software deployment experience
