Responsibilities
- Design and implement novel quantum algorithms for optimization and simulation problems
- Develop quantum error correction protocols for fault-tolerant systems
- Lead experimental validation of quantum hardware performance metrics
- Collaborate with hardware teams on qubit coherence and gate fidelity improvements
- Publish research in Nature Physics/Quantum and present at IEEE conferences
- Secure $1M+ in quantum computing research grants
- Mentor PhD candidates in quantum information science
Qualifications
- PhD in Physics, Computer Science, or Quantum Information Science
- 3+ years of quantum algorithm development experience
- Publication record in top-tier quantum journals (Nature/Science/QIP)
- Proficiency in Qiskit, Cirq, or equivalent quantum SDKs
- Expertise in quantum error correction codes (surface/LDPC)
- Experience with cryogenic quantum system architectures
- Strong Python/C++ programming and numerical simulation skills
- Active DOE QIS or NSF Quantum Leap grants preferred
