Responsibilities
- Develop novel quantum algorithms for cryptography and optimization problems
- Design and validate quantum circuit architectures on superconducting qubits
- Lead cross-functional teams in implementing quantum error correction techniques
- Publish peer-reviewed research in top-tier journals and conferences
- Secure $1M+ in federal research grants for quantum initiatives
- Mentor PhD candidates in quantum information science
- Collaborate with industry partners to commercialize quantum solutions
Qualifications
- PhD in Physics, Computer Science, or related field (or equivalent experience)
- 3+ years of hands-on quantum computing research experience
- Proficiency in quantum programming frameworks (Qiskit, Cirq, or Q#)
- Published work in Nature/Science or equivalent high-impact journals
- Deep understanding of quantum decoherence and error mitigation
- Strong background in linear algebra and quantum mechanics
- Experience with superconducting or trapped-ion quantum hardware
- Track record of securing government research funding
