Responsibilities
- Design and implement quantum algorithms for optimization and machine learning applications
- Lead experimental validation of quantum hardware prototypes in cryogenic systems
- Develop error correction protocols for fault-tolerant quantum computation
- Collaborate with cross-disciplinary teams on quantum-classical hybrid systems
- Publish research in top-tier journals and present at international conferences
- Secure external funding through NSF and DARPA grants
- Mentor junior researchers in quantum physics and computer science principles
Qualifications
- PhD in Physics, Computer Science, or related quantum field (or equivalent experience)
- 3+ years hands-on experience with quantum programming languages (Qiskit, Cirq, Q#)
- Expertise in quantum error correction and fault-tolerant architectures
- Publication record in quantum computing or condensed matter physics
- Proficiency with cryogenic quantum systems and control electronics
- Demonstrated ability to translate theoretical concepts into experimental protocols
- Strong background in machine learning frameworks (PyTorch, TensorFlow)
- Experience securing government research grants preferred
