Responsibilities
- Lead cross-functional R&D teams in quantum algorithm development and optimization
- Design and execute experimental protocols for quantum error correction protocols
- Collaborate with hardware teams to integrate quantum processors with classical systems
- Secure and manage multi-million dollar research grants from government and private sector
- Publish peer-reviewed research in top-tier journals and present at international conferences
- Mentor junior researchers and establish quantum computing curriculum standards
- Develop intellectual property portfolio with 5+ patent applications annually
Qualifications
- PhD in Quantum Physics, Computer Science, or related field with 5+ years industry experience
- Proven track record publishing in Nature/Science or equivalent top-tier journals
- Expertise in quantum programming languages (Qiskit, Cirq, Q#) and simulation frameworks
- Demonstrated experience securing federal research grants (NSF, DARPA, DOE)
- Strong background in quantum error correction and fault-tolerant architectures
- Experience leading technical teams of 10+ researchers across multiple disciplines
- Knowledge of quantum machine learning and hybrid quantum-classical systems
