The Role
As a Part-Time Software Engineer at Apex Dynamics, you will bridge the gap between complex financial data and robust software architecture. You will work closely with our quantitative research team to build tools that drive market efficiency and equity options valuation.
Responsibilities
- Develop and maintain high-performance software systems for equity options analysis and trading execution.
- Collaborate with data scientists to integrate machine learning models into our trading infrastructure.
- Optimize database queries and application performance to handle real-time market data streams.
- Conduct rigorous code reviews and ensure adherence to security and compliance standards.
- Participate in architectural design sessions and provide technical mentorship to junior staff.
- Write clean, scalable, and well-documented code that is maintainable in a fast-paced environment.
Qualifications
- Minimum of 3 years of professional software engineering experience, preferably in FinTech or quantitative trading.
- Proficiency in Python, Java, or C++ with a deep understanding of data structures and algorithms.
- Experience with relational databases (PostgreSQL, MySQL) and message queues (Kafka, RabbitMQ).
- Strong understanding of financial markets, specifically equity options, derivatives, and market microstructure.
- Ability to work effectively in a remote/part-time capacity while meeting critical deadlines.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and a proactive approach to technical challenges.
