Role Overview:
As a Part-Time Senior Cybersecurity Analyst, you will play a pivotal role in identifying vulnerabilities, mitigating threats, and ensuring compliance with federal and industry standards. You will collaborate with cross-functional teams to implement robust security measures and respond to incidents with precision.
Responsibilities
- Monitor and analyze security alerts and events across the enterprise network using SIEM tools.
- Conduct regular vulnerability assessments and penetration testing to identify potential security gaps.
- Develop and maintain incident response plans, leading investigations into security breaches.
- Ensure compliance with regulatory standards such as SOC 2, ISO 27001, and HIPAA.
- Provide expert consultation on security architecture and best practices to non-technical stakeholders.
- Perform security audits and recommend remediation strategies for identified issues.
- Stay abreast of the latest cybersecurity threats and emerging technologies.
Qualifications
- Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in cybersecurity, network security, or information security.
- Certifications such as CISSP, CEH, or Security+ are highly preferred.
- Strong knowledge of network protocols (TCP/IP, DNS, HTTP) and security architecture.
- Proficiency in security tools including Splunk, FireEye, or similar SIEM platforms.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills for reporting and training purposes.
- Ability to work independently and manage time effectively in a part-time capacity.
- Understanding of legal and regulatory requirements regarding data privacy and protection.
