Responsibilities
- Monitor network traffic, system logs, and security alerts for suspicious activity and potential intrusions.
- Conduct regular vulnerability assessments and penetration testing to identify security weaknesses.
- Implement and maintain security measures, including firewalls, intrusion detection systems (IDS), and VPNs.
- Respond to security incidents and coordinate with IT teams to mitigate risks and restore service.
- Ensure compliance with internal security policies, industry regulations (GDPR, HIPAA), and standards.
- Generate and present security reports to management to highlight potential risks and remediation efforts.
- Perform daily patch management and software updates to ensure system integrity.
Qualifications
- Associate or Bachelor’s degree in Cybersecurity, Information Technology, or a related field.
- Current CompTIA Security+ or equivalent certification is highly preferred.
- 1-3 years of experience in a security operations center (SOC) or network security role.
- Strong knowledge of network protocols, operating systems (Windows/Linux), and common attack vectors.
- Experience with SIEM tools (e.g., Splunk, LogRhythm) and threat intelligence platforms.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to work independently in a part-time capacity.
