Responsibilities
- Monitor network traffic and system logs in real-time to identify potential security threats and anomalies.
- Implement and maintain firewalls, intrusion detection systems (IDS), and virtual private networks (VPNs).
- Conduct regular vulnerability assessments, penetration testing, and security audits.
- Respond to and mitigate security incidents, including malware infections and unauthorized access attempts.
- Develop, update, and enforce robust security policies and compliance standards.
- Collaborate with the IT team to ensure data confidentiality, integrity, and availability.
- Provide training and guidance to staff on security best practices and phishing awareness.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Cybersecurity, Information Technology, or a related field (or equivalent work experience).
- Current certification such as CompTIA Security+ or CISSP preferred.
- Minimum of 2 years of experience in cybersecurity or network administration.
- Strong knowledge of network protocols, operating systems, and security architectures.
- Familiarity with SIEM tools (e.g., Splunk, LogRhythm) and threat intelligence platforms.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to work independently.
- Valid driver's license (for occasional on-site meetings at our Dallas HQ).
