Responsibilities
- Threat Monitoring: Monitor security alerts and events in SIEM systems (Splunk, QRadar, or similar) to detect and respond to potential threats in real-time.
- Vulnerability Management: Conduct regular vulnerability assessments and penetration testing to identify system weaknesses and implement patches.
- Incident Response: Investigate security breaches, perform root cause analysis, and execute remediation strategies to prevent recurrence.
- Compliance & Governance: Ensure adherence to internal security policies and external regulatory standards (GDPR, HIPAA, NIST).
- Network Hardening: Collaborate with IT teams to configure firewalls, VPNs, and intrusion detection systems to harden network boundaries.
- Reporting: Prepare detailed reports on security posture, incident trends, and risk assessments for executive leadership.
Qualifications
- Experience: 3+ years of proven experience in cybersecurity, network security, or information security.
- Certifications: Relevant certifications such as CompTIA Security+, CISSP, CEH, or GCIH are highly preferred.
- Technical Skills: Strong knowledge of TCP/IP, IDS/IPS, VPNs, and firewall configurations.
- Cloud Security: Familiarity with cloud security frameworks (AWS, Azure, or GCP).
- Independence: Ability to work autonomously in a part-time capacity while maintaining high productivity.
- Communication: Excellent written and verbal communication skills for reporting and team collaboration.
