The Role:
We are seeking a detail-oriented individual to monitor our security posture, respond to incidents, and ensure our systems remain resilient against evolving threats. You will work closely with our full-time security operations center (SOC) team.
What You'll Do:
• Monitor security alerts and events in real-time.
• Conduct vulnerability assessments and system audits.
• Assist in the investigation and remediation of security incidents.
• Maintain documentation of security policies and compliance requirements.
Responsibilities
- Threat Monitoring: Continuously monitor security alerts and SIEM logs to identify suspicious activity and potential intrusions.
- Incident Response: Assist in the triage, analysis, and containment of security incidents and minor breaches.
- Auditing: Perform regular vulnerability scans and security audits to ensure compliance with internal standards and industry regulations.
- Reporting: Generate and present weekly or monthly security status reports to management.
- Configuration: Assist in the configuration and maintenance of firewalls, antivirus software, and intrusion detection systems.
- Education: Provide basic cybersecurity awareness training to staff members.
Qualifications
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Security, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
- Experience: Minimum of 2-4 years of experience in cybersecurity, network administration, or IT security.
- Certifications: CompTIA Security+, Network+, or equivalent certification is highly preferred.
- Technical Skills: Proficiency with SIEM tools (e.g., Splunk, LogRhythm) and knowledge of TCP/IP, HTTP, and DNS protocols.
- Soft Skills: Strong analytical thinking, attention to detail, and excellent communication skills.
