Responsibilities
- Monitor and analyze security alerts using SIEM platforms (Splunk, QRadar)
- Investigate cybersecurity incidents and coordinate response protocols
- Conduct vulnerability assessments and penetration testing exercises
- Develop security documentation including incident reports and risk assessments
- Implement network security controls and firewall configurations
- Stay current with emerging threats and industry compliance standards (NIST, ISO 27001)
- Collaborate with IT teams to enhance overall security posture
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Cybersecurity, IT, or related field (or equivalent experience)
- 2+ years of hands-on security operations center (SOC) experience
- Industry certifications: CompTIA Security+, CISSP, or CEH preferred
- Proficiency in threat intelligence tools (MISP, AlienVault)
- Strong knowledge of TCP/IP networking and Windows/Linux systems
- Experience with incident response frameworks (NIST SP 800-61)
- Excellent analytical skills and attention to detail
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
