Responsibilities
- Monitor security information and event management (SIEM) systems to detect and investigate potential security threats
- Analyze network traffic, logs, and alerts to identify malicious activity and anomalies
- Incident response coordination including containment, eradication, and recovery efforts
- Conduct vulnerability assessments and penetration testing on internal systems
- Develop and maintain security documentation including incident reports and policies
- Collaborate with IT teams to implement security controls and best practices
- Stay current with emerging threats and cybersecurity trends
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Cybersecurity, IT, or related field (or equivalent experience)
- 2+ years of hands-on cybersecurity experience with SIEM tools (Splunk, QRadar, etc.)
- CompTIA Security+ or CISSP certification required
- Proficiency in network security protocols and firewalls (Fortinet, Palo Alto)
- Experience with vulnerability scanning tools (Nessus, Qualys)
- Strong analytical skills with attention to detail
- Ability to work independently and manage time effectively in part-time role
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
