Responsibilities
- Monitor security information and event management (SIEM) systems to detect and respond to security incidents
- Conduct vulnerability assessments and penetration testing on network infrastructure
- Analyze security logs and data to identify potential breaches or suspicious activities
- Implement and maintain security controls including firewalls, IDS/IPS, and endpoint protection
- Prepare detailed incident response reports and security documentation
- Collaborate with IT teams to ensure compliance with NIST and HIPAA standards
- Stay current with emerging threats and security technologies through continuous learning
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Cybersecurity, IT, or related field (or equivalent experience)
- 2+ years of hands-on cybersecurity experience with SIEM tools (e.g., Splunk, QRadar)
- Strong knowledge of network security protocols (TCP/IP, DNS, VPNs)
- Certification in CompTIA Security+, CEH, or CISSP preferred
- Experience with vulnerability scanning tools (Nessus, Qualys)
- Familiarity with incident response frameworks (NIST SP 800-61)
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks efficiently
