Join our dynamic security team at NexGen Security Partners as a Part-Time Cybersecurity Analyst. Protect critical infrastructure and sensitive data for Fortune 500 clients in the Columbus area. This flexible 20-hour/week role offers competitive compensation and opportunities to work with cutting-edge security technologies. Collaborate with industry experts in a hybrid environment with 2 days/week in our downtown Columbus office.
Responsibilities
- Monitor and analyze security alerts using SIEM platforms (Splunk, QRadar)
- Conduct vulnerability assessments and penetration testing
- Implement and maintain security controls (firewalls, IDS/IPS)
- Investigate security incidents and coordinate response activities
- Generate comprehensive security reports for stakeholders
- Stay current on emerging threats and security best practices
- Assist with security awareness training programs
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Cybersecurity, IT, or related field
- 2+ years of experience in security operations or incident response
- CompTIA Security+ or CISSP certification preferred
- Proficiency in network security tools (Wireshark, Nmap)
- Experience with cloud security (AWS/Azure) environments
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
