Responsibilities
- Monitor and analyze security alerts using SIEM platforms (e.g., Splunk, QRadar) to detect and respond to potential threats
- Conduct vulnerability assessments and penetration testing on network systems and applications
- Document security incidents, mitigation strategies, and compliance reports with NIST frameworks
- Collaborate with IT teams to implement security controls and patch management procedures
- Assist in developing incident response plans and conducting tabletop exercises
- Stay current on emerging threats, malware trends, and regulatory changes (HIPAA, GDPR)
- Provide security awareness training to staff members and stakeholders
Qualifications
- Associate's degree in Cybersecurity, IT, or related field (or equivalent experience)
- 1-3 years of hands-on experience in security operations or network administration
- CompTIA Security+, CEH, or CISSP certification preferred
- Proficiency in network protocols (TCP/IP, DNS, HTTP) and security tools (Wireshark, Nmap)
- Strong understanding of risk assessment methodologies and compliance frameworks
- Excellent analytical skills with ability to prioritize threats under pressure
- Effective written and verbal communication for technical/non-technical audiences
- Valid U.S. driver's license and ability to travel locally for client meetings
