Are you a detail-oriented security professional seeking a flexible work-life balance? Triangle Cyber Defense is expanding our elite security operations team in the heart of the Research Triangle Park. We are looking for a Part-Time Cybersecurity Analyst to support our 24/7 SOC operations and enhance our threat intelligence capabilities.
In this role, you will collaborate with our senior analysts to detect, analyze, and respond to cyber threats in real-time. If you possess a deep understanding of network protocols and a passion for protecting sensitive data, we want to hear from you.
Responsibilities
- Monitor security alerts and events using SIEM tools (Splunk, Sentinel) to identify potential threats.
- Perform log analysis and triage incidents to ensure rapid response and mitigation.
- Conduct regular vulnerability assessments and patch management reviews.
- Assist in the development and execution of security policies and compliance audits (NIST, HIPAA).
- Document security incidents and prepare detailed reports for management.
- Support security awareness training initiatives and phishing simulations.
Qualifications
- 2+ years of experience in cybersecurity, network security, or IT support.
- Strong understanding of TCP/IP, DNS, HTTP, and common attack vectors.
- Familiarity with security tools such as Firewalls, IDS/IPS, and Endpoint Protection.
- CompTIA Security+ or equivalent certification is highly preferred.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to work independently and manage time effectively in a remote/hybrid setting.
