The Role:
You will be responsible for the day-to-day maintenance, monitoring, and support of our local area network (LAN), wide area network (WAN), and internet systems. You will act as the first line of defense in network troubleshooting and will work closely with senior engineers to implement new technologies.
Responsibilities
- Install, configure, and maintain network hardware, including routers, switches, firewalls, and wireless access points.
- Troubleshoot network connectivity issues, performance bottlenecks, and hardware failures with speed and accuracy.
- Implement and enforce network security protocols to protect data integrity and prevent unauthorized access.
- Document network architecture, configurations, and changes to ensure clear communication and easy maintenance.
- Perform regular system backups and disaster recovery testing to ensure business continuity.
- Monitor network traffic and performance metrics using specialized tools to proactively identify issues.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to upgrade network infrastructure and support business initiatives.
Qualifications
- Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field (or equivalent hands-on experience).
- Cisco Certified Network Associate (CCNA) or equivalent networking certification is highly preferred.
- Proven experience (3+ years) in network administration, support, or a similar technical role.
- Strong working knowledge of TCP/IP, routing, switching, VLANs, and subnetting.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to work well under pressure in a fast-paced environment.
- Valid driver’s license and willingness to travel to off-site server rooms or client locations.
