Responsibilities
- Design, install, and maintain local area networks (LANs) and wide area networks (WANs) with a focus on reliability and scalability.
- Configure, manage, and troubleshoot network hardware, including routers, switches, firewalls, and wireless access points.
- Monitor network traffic and performance to identify bottlenecks, ensuring optimal uptime and speed.
- Implement and enforce network security protocols to protect sensitive data and prevent unauthorized access.
- Collaborate with the IT support team to resolve complex technical issues and provide user training.
- Document network architecture, configurations, and changes to maintain comprehensive system records.
- Perform regular system upgrades and preventative maintenance to keep infrastructure current.
Qualifications
- Associate degree or Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
- Valid industry certification such as CompTIA Network+, CCNA, or equivalent.
- Minimum of 3 years of professional experience in network administration, support, or engineering.
- Strong working knowledge of TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, VLANs, and routing protocols (OSPF, BGP).
- Hands-on experience with Cisco, Juniper, or Arista networking equipment.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to troubleshoot complex connectivity issues under pressure.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills for interacting with non-technical staff.
