Responsibilities
- Network Installation & Configuration: Assist in the deployment, installation, and configuration of network hardware, including routers, switches, and firewalls.
- Cabling & Infrastructure: Perform termination and testing of structured cabling (Cat6, Fiber Optics) and rack-and-stack server hardware.
- Troubleshooting: Diagnose and resolve network connectivity issues, hardware failures, and software conflicts to ensure minimal downtime.
- Maintenance: Conduct routine maintenance, audits, and upgrades on existing network systems to ensure optimal performance and security.
- Documentation: Maintain accurate records of network configurations, changes, and technical documentation.
- Support: Provide Tier 1 and Tier 2 support to internal staff regarding network-related inquiries and technical assistance.
- Compliance: Ensure all network activities comply with company policies and industry standards.
Qualifications
- Education: High school diploma or GED required; Associate’s degree in IT, Computer Science, or related field is a plus.
- Experience: No prior professional experience required, but familiarity with computers and basic electronics is essential.
- Willingness to Learn: A strong desire to learn new technologies and obtain industry certifications (we will cover the costs).
- Technical Skills: Basic understanding of operating systems (Windows/Linux) and networking concepts.
- Physical Requirements: Ability to lift up to 50 lbs, work in various environments (cleanroom, server room, field sites), and stand for extended periods.
- Soft Skills: Excellent problem-solving skills, attention to detail, and the ability to communicate complex technical information clearly.
- Driver’s License: Valid driver’s license required for site visits.
