Responsibilities
- Install, configure, and maintain local area network (LAN) and wide area network (WAN) hardware and software, including routers, switches, and firewalls.
- Perform network troubleshooting to identify and resolve connectivity issues, ensuring minimal downtime for business operations.
- Manage network cabling infrastructure, including fiber and copper, ensuring compliance with industry standards.
- Monitor network performance and traffic to optimize speed and security protocols.
- Assist in the deployment of new network services and infrastructure upgrades across the Arlington facility.
- Document network configurations, changes, and technical procedures for future reference.
- Collaborate with the IT support team to resolve escalated user issues related to network access.
Qualifications
- Associate’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field; Bachelor’s degree preferred.
- Valid Network+ or CCNA certification is highly desired.
- Minimum of 2-4 years of experience in network administration or technical support.
- Proficient knowledge of TCP/IP, VLANs, routing, and switching protocols.
- Strong understanding of network security principles and best practices.
- Excellent troubleshooting and analytical problem-solving skills.
- Ability to lift and carry network equipment weighing up to 50 lbs as required.
