Responsibilities
- Install, configure, and troubleshoot network hardware, including routers, switches, and firewalls.
- Monitor network performance and traffic to identify potential bottlenecks or security threats.
- Perform preventative maintenance on network infrastructure to ensure optimal uptime.
- Diagnose and resolve network connectivity issues, cable faults, and hardware failures.
- Assist in the deployment of new network infrastructure, including structured cabling and wireless access points.
- Document all network configurations, changes, and resolutions in the CMDB.
- Collaborate with the IT team to implement security protocols and software updates.
Qualifications
- Associate degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field (or equivalent experience).
- Cisco Certified Network Associate (CCNA) or equivalent certification is preferred.
- Strong working knowledge of TCP/IP, OSI model, subnetting, and routing protocols.
- Experience with network troubleshooting tools and diagnostic software.
- Familiarity with VPNs, VLANs, and network security best practices.
- Ability to lift and carry network equipment weighing up to 50 lbs.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and strong communication abilities.
