Responsibilities
- Install, configure, and maintain local area networks (LANs), wide area networks (WANs), and wireless networks.
- Monitor network performance to ensure optimal uptime and resolve technical issues efficiently.
- Perform routine network audits and preventative maintenance to identify potential vulnerabilities.
- Configure and manage network devices including routers, switches, firewalls, and load balancers.
- Document network diagrams, configurations, and changes for knowledge sharing and compliance.
- Collaborate with the IT security team to implement network security protocols and firewalls.
Qualifications
- Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
- Cisco Certified Network Associate (CCNA) or equivalent certification preferred.
- Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in network engineering or technical support.
- Strong working knowledge of TCP/IP, subnetting, routing protocols (OSPF, BGP), and VLANs.
- Experience with network monitoring tools (e.g., SolarWinds, PRTG).
- Ability to obtain a government security clearance (e.g., Secret/Top Secret) is highly desirable.
