We are seeking a skilled and reliable Network Technician to join our growing team in Baton Rouge. As a key member of our IT support staff, you will play a critical role in ensuring our organization's connectivity and data integrity. You will work closely with senior engineers to implement, maintain, and upgrade our network systems, providing seamless support to internal stakeholders.
Responsibilities
- Install, configure, and troubleshoot local area networks (LAN), wide area networks (WAN), and wireless network infrastructure.
- Perform routine network maintenance and upgrades to ensure system performance and security.
- Respond to and resolve network connectivity issues and service tickets in a timely manner.
- Document network configurations, changes, and troubleshooting procedures accurately.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to support IT projects and infrastructure migrations.
- Conduct cable management and physical infrastructure inspections.
Qualifications
- Associate degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or Network Engineering preferred.
- Cisco Certified Network Associate (CCNA) certification is a plus but not required.
- Proven experience working with routers, switches, firewalls, and cabling (Cat6, fiber).
- Strong knowledge of TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, and OSI models.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to diagnose complex network issues.
- Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs and perform physical work in server rooms and crawl spaces.
