Responsibilities
- Monitor network traffic and system logs for suspicious activities using SIEM tools (e.g., Splunk, QRadar).
- Conduct initial triage and incident response for security alerts and potential breaches.
- Assist in the implementation and configuration of firewalls, IDS/IPS, and VPNs.
- Perform vulnerability assessments and security audits to ensure compliance with industry standards.
- Collaborate with the DevOps team to integrate security best practices (DevSecOps) into the software development lifecycle.
- Document security incidents, findings, and remediation steps for the security team.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Security, or related field (or equivalent experience).
- CompTIA Security+ or Network+ certification is highly preferred.
- Familiarity with networking concepts (TCP/IP, DNS, HTTP) and basic scripting (Python or Bash).
- Understanding of Linux and Windows operating systems and their security configurations.
- Strong analytical thinking and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work in a high-pressure environment and handle multiple tasks simultaneously.
