Sentinel Guard Systems is seeking a motivated Junior Cybersecurity Analyst to join our elite SOC team in Austin, Texas. As a key player in our defense operations, you will gain hands-on experience protecting critical infrastructure and learning from industry veterans.
We are looking for candidates who are curious, detail-oriented, and eager to learn. In this role, you will work closely with senior analysts to identify threats, respond to incidents, and ensure our clients' data remains secure.
Responsibilities
- Monitor security alerts and events using SIEM tools (e.g., Splunk, QRadar, or similar).
- Conduct initial triage and investigation of security incidents.
- Assist in the maintenance of security policies, procedures, and compliance documentation.
- Perform vulnerability scanning and basic network analysis.
- Respond to Tier 1 helpdesk tickets related to security and access issues.
- Participate in red team/blue team exercises and tabletop exercises.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Security, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
- Understanding of networking fundamentals (TCP/IP, OSI model, DNS, HTTP).
- CompTIA Security+ or Network+ certification is a plus but not required.
- Strong analytical thinking and problem-solving abilities.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment.
