Responsibilities
- Monitor security alerts and respond to potential threats in real-time.
- Assist in conducting vulnerability assessments and penetration testing.
- Manage and audit user access permissions across the network.
- Document security incidents and prepare detailed incident reports.
- Support the IT team in implementing security patches and updates.
- Participate in security awareness training and compliance audits.
- Conduct basic forensic analysis of security logs and data.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Security, or a related technical field.
- CompTIA Security+ certification (or willingness to obtain within 6 months).
- Strong understanding of networking concepts (TCP/IP, DNS, HTTP).
- Excellent problem-solving and analytical thinking skills.
- Detail-oriented with a focus on data integrity and security.
- Willingness to relocate to the Chicago, IL area.
