Responsibilities
- Monitor security information and event management (SIEM) systems to detect and respond to potential cyber threats in real-time.
- Assist senior analysts in conducting vulnerability assessments and penetration testing support.
- Document security incidents, maintain detailed logs, and contribute to post-incident reports.
- Support the implementation and maintenance of firewalls, antivirus software, and intrusion detection systems.
- Collaborate with the IT team to ensure compliance with internal security policies and industry standards (e.g., NIST, ISO).
- Stay updated on the latest cybersecurity trends and emerging threats to recommend proactive security measures.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Cybersecurity, or a related field (or equivalent work experience).
- Interest in cybersecurity, ethical hacking, or network security.
- Basic understanding of networking concepts (TCP/IP, DNS, HTTP) and operating systems (Windows, Linux).
- Familiarity with security concepts such as encryption, authentication, or access control is a plus.
- Strong analytical problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Willingness to obtain industry-recognized certifications (e.g., CompTIA Security+) during employment.
