As a Junior Analyst, you will work under the guidance of senior security engineers to monitor, detect, and respond to security incidents. You will gain hands-on experience with industry-leading security tools and contribute to a culture of vigilance and continuous improvement.
Responsibilities
- Security Monitoring: Monitor security alerts and events through SIEM tools (e.g., Splunk, QRadar) to identify potential threats in real-time.
- Incident Response: Assist in the triage, investigation, and remediation of security incidents, documenting findings and contributing to post-incident reports.
- Vulnerability Management: Support vulnerability scanning and remediation efforts to ensure systems are patched and secure against known exploits.
- Log Analysis: Analyze network logs and system logs to detect anomalous behavior and suspicious activities.
- Security Compliance: Assist in maintaining compliance with internal policies and external regulatory standards (e.g., HIPAA, PCI-DSS) where applicable.
- Documentation: Maintain accurate and up-to-date documentation of security configurations, processes, and incident reports.
Qualifications
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Security, or a related field; or equivalent practical experience.
- Certifications: CompTIA Security+ or Network+ is highly preferred (Certification on the job may be considered).
- Knowledge: Understanding of networking fundamentals, TCP/IP, HTTP, and common protocols.
- Tools: Familiarity with security tools such as firewalls, IDS/IPS, and antivirus solutions.
- Skills: Basic scripting knowledge in Python or PowerShell is a plus.
- Soft Skills: Strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work in a fast-paced, collaborative team environment.
