Responsibilities
- Monitor security alerts and investigate potential threats using SIEM tools
- Assist in vulnerability assessments and penetration testing exercises
- Document security incidents and contribute to incident response playbooks
- Implement basic security controls and compliance measures
- Participate in security awareness training and phishing simulations
- Collaborate with senior analysts on security architecture reviews
- Research emerging threats and contribute to threat intelligence reports
Qualifications
- Associate's degree in IT, Cybersecurity, or related field (or equivalent experience)
- Basic understanding of networking concepts (TCP/IP, DNS, firewalls)
- Familiarity with operating systems (Windows, Linux, macOS)
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities
- Eagerness to learn security tools and frameworks
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- CompTIA Security+ or similar certification preferred (training provided)
- US citizenship or permanent residency required for government contracts
