Responsibilities
- Monitor security alerts and investigate potential threats using SIEM tools
- Assist in vulnerability assessments and penetration testing exercises
- Document security incidents and maintain compliance logs
- Participate in security awareness campaigns for internal teams
- Collaborate on incident response drills and tabletop exercises
- Support patch management and system hardening initiatives
- Learn and apply NIST frameworks in real-world scenarios
Qualifications
- Associate's degree in IT, Cybersecurity, or related field (or equivalent experience)
- Basic understanding of networking concepts (TCP/IP, DNS, firewalls)
- Proficiency with Windows/Linux operating systems
- Eagerness to learn security tools (Splunk, Wireshark, Metasploit)
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- CompTIA Security+ or similar certification preferred (not required)
- Must pass background check and drug screening
