Responsibilities
- Monitor and analyze security alerts and events using SIEM tools such as Splunk or SolarWinds.
- Conduct daily vulnerability scans and perform basic penetration testing under senior supervision.
- Respond to and remediate security incidents and alerts in a timely manner.
- Assist in the implementation and configuration of firewalls, IDS/IPS, and endpoint protection.
- Update and maintain accurate security documentation and compliance reports.
- Collaborate with IT and software development teams to ensure secure coding practices.
- Stay current with emerging security trends and threat intelligence.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Security, or a related field (or equivalent work experience).
- Certificate such as Security+ (CompTIA) or willingness to obtain it within 6 months.
- Strong understanding of TCP/IP, OSI model, and networking fundamentals.
- Familiarity with Linux and Windows server environments.
- Excellent analytical skills, attention to detail, and problem-solving abilities.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills for reporting security findings.
