Responsibilities
- Develop 5-year technology roadmaps integrating emerging fields (quantum AI, neural interfaces, synthetic biology)
- Lead cross-functional innovation sprints with R&D, product, and engineering teams
- Conduct horizon scanning for breakthrough technologies with global patent analysis
- Present strategic technology briefings to C-suite and board members
- Manage $5M+ innovation budgets for experimental technology pilots
- Establish strategic partnerships with leading research institutions (MIT, Stanford, etc.)
- Mentor a high-performing team of futurists and technology architects
Qualifications
- 15+ years in technology strategy with 8+ years in emerging tech domains
- Proven track record of launching at least 3 breakthrough technologies
- Deep expertise in at least 3 of these fields: quantum computing, neuromorphic chips, synthetic biology, or decentralized AI
- Executive presence with experience presenting to Fortune 500 boards
- PhD in Computer Science, Engineering, or Physics preferred
- Published research in IEEE Nature or similar tier-1 journals
- Fluency in technology forecasting methodologies (Delphi, scenario planning)
- Portfolio of implemented future-tech initiatives with measurable ROI
