Responsibilities
- Monitor and analyze security alerts using SIEM platforms
- Perform vulnerability assessments and penetration testing exercises
- Document security incidents and maintain incident response logs
- Assist with security policy implementation and compliance audits
- Participate in threat hunting exercises and threat intelligence analysis
- Develop automation scripts for security monitoring tasks
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams on security awareness initiatives
Qualifications
- Associate's degree in IT, Cybersecurity, or related field (or equivalent experience)
- CompTIA Security+ or willingness to obtain within 90 days
- Basic understanding of networking concepts (TCP/IP, firewalls, VPNs)
- Strong analytical thinking and problem-solving abilities
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Willingness to relocate to San Diego, CA
- Active participation in cybersecurity communities or CTF competitions
