The Role:
In this entry-level position, you will assist senior analysts in monitoring security alerts, investigating potential breaches, and maintaining the security posture of our clients. You will gain hands-on experience in log analysis, incident response, and vulnerability assessment.
Responsibilities
- Monitor Security Information and Event Management (SIEM) dashboards for suspicious activities and security alerts.
- Perform log analysis and correlation to identify potential threats and anomalies in real-time.
- Assist in the investigation and triage of security incidents, escalating threats to senior management when necessary.
- Conduct vulnerability assessments and ensure patches are applied in a timely manner.
- Document security events and maintain accurate incident reports for compliance and auditing purposes.
- Participate in red team/blue team exercises and tabletop simulations to sharpen defensive strategies.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Security, or a related technical field (or equivalent military/technical experience).
- CompTIA Security+ or Network+ certification is strongly preferred; willingness to obtain certifications within 6 months is required.
- Basic understanding of networking concepts, including TCP/IP, DNS, HTTP, and firewalls.
- Familiarity with Linux and Windows command line interfaces.
- Strong analytical thinking and problem-solving skills with high attention to detail.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills for reporting technical findings.
