Responsibilities
- Monitor security alerts and events within the SIEM platform to identify potential threats.
- Conduct basic vulnerability assessments and security scans on company networks.
- Assist in the investigation of security incidents and creation of incident reports.
- Support the implementation of security patches and configuration updates.
- Collaborate with the IT team to ensure compliance with internal security policies and external regulations (e.g., HIPAA, PCI-DSS).
- Maintain documentation regarding security incidents and system configurations.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Security, or a related field (or equivalent military/technical experience).
- Familiarity with networking concepts such as TCP/IP, DNS, HTTP, and firewalls.
- CompTIA Security+ or Network+ certification is a strong plus but not required.
- Strong analytical thinking and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent written and verbal communication abilities.
- Ability to work independently in a remote environment.
