Responsibilities
- Monitor security alerts using SIEM platforms (Splunk, QRadar) and prioritize incident response
- Perform vulnerability scans and penetration testing on network infrastructures
- Document security incidents and maintain compliance with NIST frameworks
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to implement zero-trust architectures
- Analyze malware samples and contribute to threat intelligence reports
- Participate in 24/7 on-call rotation (1 week/month)
- Assist in developing security policies and incident response playbooks
Qualifications
- 0-2 years of cybersecurity experience or relevant internship
- CompTIA Security+ or equivalent certification (or ability to obtain within 90 days)
- Familiarity with TCP/IP networking and common security tools (Wireshark, Nmap)
- Basic scripting knowledge (Python, PowerShell, or Bash)
- Strong analytical skills and attention to detail
- Ability to work independently in a remote environment
- Relevant degree in Cybersecurity, IT, or related field preferred
- Active DoD 8570 compliance certification a plus
