Responsibilities
- Monitor security operations center (SOC) dashboards for threat detection and alert triage
- Conduct vulnerability assessments using automated scanning tools (Nessus, OpenVAS)
- Document security incidents using SIEM platforms (Splunk, QRadar)
- Assist in implementing firewall configurations and access control policies
- Participate in phishing simulation campaigns and user awareness training
- Support penetration testing exercises under senior guidance
- Stay current on CVE advisories and emerging threat intelligence
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent (degree in IT/Cybersecurity preferred but not required)
- Basic understanding of networking concepts (TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP)
- Proficient with Windows/Linux command-line interfaces
- Strong problem-solving and analytical aptitude
- Ability to obtain DoD Secret clearance (citizenship required)
- Willingness to pursue Security+ certification within first year
- Excellent written communication for incident reporting
- Valid driver's license for occasional client site visits
